The Best Skin Care Routine for Treating Acne-Prone Skin

Being prone to breakouts is not only painful physically, but it can also affect your emotions and confidence.

Acne varies from person to person, and many factors will lead to acne breakouts. Some may be caused by hormone imbalances, hygiene, or even genetics. Keeping a consistent skincare routine and using the right products will help to keep your skin clear while minimizing acne flare-ups. Many times anti-acne products can be really harsh on the skin leaving skin red, irritated, flaky, and dry. But how to maintain clear and comfortable skin?

MORNING/EVENING SKINCARE REGIMEN FOR ACNE-PRONE SKIN

Different types of acne may require the use of different products and ingredients, but there are basic steps that everyone should follow when dealing with acne-prone skin.

If you have severe acne that is painful and flares-up easily, you should find a dermatologist that can give you medical advice.

We have a skincare regimen that is very easy to follow, and it does not require you to spend so much time every day on it.

STEP 1: Wash Your Face

Washing your face every day in the morning and evening is one of the secrets for clear and radiant-looking skin. No washing your face will definitely worsen your acne breakouts. We tend to think that when we wake up skin is not dirty because we have been sleeping. However, while you sleep, your skin is producing sebum, and your pillowcase may have dust that you cannot see but can penetrate your pores while you are sleeping. Cleanse your face in the morning with a gentle facial cleansing gel. Some anti-acne products may have irritating ingredients, make sure to choose some a product that will not make your acne worse. Pat your skin dry with a soft towel. After cleansing your face, your skin should feel smooth and hydrated, not dry with a tightening feeling. If you can sense that your skin is too dry, your facial cleansing product is stripping all oils from your skin.

During the day, the skin is under a lot of stress caused by makeup, pollution, accumulated debris, and excess oil. Cleansing your skin with a gentle face wash will avoid drying your skin and irritation. Wash your face before going to bed with a gentle face wash. Use the tips of your fingers to massage your facial cleanser across your face. Using your fingers to massage your skin will not only help to dissolve debris and excess oil, but it will also bring blood flow closer to the surface of the skin. Your skin should feel your skin refreshed and soft.

You can also wash your face after any physical activity that causes you to sweat. Sweat can clog pores and exacerbate acne breakouts.

STEP 2: Treat Your Acne with Light Therapy

This is actually the only step that will differ from the morning skin care regimen. You may not know this, but anti-acne light therapy treatment is being used for a long time to treat acne breakouts, specifically blue light therapy. Light therapy treatments are non-invasive and painless that can effectively reduce and prevent acne breakouts. The blue light therapy has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to kill acne-causing bacteria. This light also soothes and calms the skin. You will want to use the light therapy treatment on your skin right after you cleanse your skin. Do not apply any cream or acne treatment before you start with light therapy. Now you can have light therapy treatments daily from the comfort of your home with TOUCHBeauty 3-In-1 Facial Beauty Device. With this device, you just need 12 min extra each day to keep your skin clear and more comfortable. The 3-In-1 Facial Beauty Device also features 2 other microcurrent attachments that will keep your complexion firm and toned. A great device to include in your skincare routine.

If you are looking for a more affordable option that features only light therapy treatment, you cannot go wrong with the Light Therapy Device. This compact device has three interchangeable head attachments with three light therapy wavelengths. Because the treatment surface of this device is smaller, it is ideal for localized treatment. The blue light therapy will help you to clear active breakouts and prevent future ones.

STEP 3: Topical Acne Treatment & Moisturizer

After you finish your anti-acne blue light therapy treatment, it’s time for you to apply your topical acne skincare treatment. Allow it to absorb completely before you apply moisturizer. We know that the word moisture may scare many people with acne-prone skin. However, your skin still needs hydration. Choose a moisturizer with a lighter formula that does not have pore-clogging and irritating ingredients.

PRO TIPS:

  • Use skincare products and cosmetics that don’thave pore-clogging ingredients.
  • Do not pic on your blemishes. While it can be satisfying to pick on your blemishes. Doing this can seem harmless, but picking on your skin can leave acne scars and cause a serious infection.

Eat healthy food low in fat and sugar. This will also help your acne situation.
